What a website costs in Slovakia in 2026: prices by type and what is included
The honest answer to "what does a website cost" sounds dull: it depends what you call a website. A range from 500 to 50,000 euros is not a price range for one service — it is different services sharing a word.
Below, specific figures by type and, more usefully, an explanation of what exactly is being paid for.

Prices by type
| Type | Price | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|
| Landing page | from 1,500 € | one service, one offer, advertising for a specific proposition |
| Company site | from 3,500 € | a company with several services, portfolio, blog |
| Online shop | from 5,000 € | selling goods with a cart, payment and delivery |
The hourly rate for changes is 35 €.
Within each category the total is decided by four things: number of pages, number of languages, integrations (CRM, payments, booking, stock) and the amount of bespoke design.
Why 500-euro offers exist
They do exist, and it is worth knowing what lies behind them: a ready WordPress theme with the text and logo swapped. That is not a scam — for some tasks it works.
The problems start later:
- the template drags a dozen plugins with it, each needing updates
- loading speed suffers, and Google factors it into positions
- the template has none of your mandatory company details, no EU-compliant cookie banner and no enquiry measurement
- attempting to add a non-standard feature reveals the template cannot do it
After a year such a site is usually rebuilt. The final sum comes out higher than doing it properly at the start.
What the price includes
To compare offers you need to know what can be in a quote at all:
- a structure built for your tasks, rather than fitting the business to a template
- responsive layout — more than half of visitors arrive by phone
- forms with spam protection and a check that the emails actually arrive
- domain and hosting connected, email on your own domain
- mandatory company details — IČO, DIČ, register entry (what exactly is required)
- a cookie banner with Consent Mode v2 (why it is mandatory)
- GA4 and Tag Manager analytics measuring enquiries, not just pageviews
- basic SEO setup — headings, markup, sitemap, Search Console
- six months of technical support included
The last four items are usually missing from cheap offers — and they are precisely what decides whether the site brings enquiries.

Costs people forget
The development quote is not the whole cost of owning a site.
Domain and hosting — roughly 50–150 € a year. A trifle, but they must be registered to you, not the contractor (why that matters).
Copy. Who will write it? If you, budget your own time. If a copywriter, that is a separate and noticeable line.
Photographs. Stock images are recognised instantly and work against trust. Your own photographs mean either your time or a photographer.
A payment gateway, if you sell: connection plus a percentage of every transaction (how to choose).
Support after launch. Updates, backups, fixes. With me the first six months are included, then by the hour. Others charge a subscription of 50–200 € a month.
Ask about each item in advance. The difference between "a site for 2,000" and "a site for 3,500" is often explained entirely by this list.
How to compare offers
Not by the final figure but by three questions:
- What is included? Ask for a list. If it has no analytics, cookie banner or mandatory company details, you are comparing different things.
- Who owns the domain, hosting and code? They should be yours.
- What happens after launch? What a change costs, who fixes a breakage, whether support exists.
An offer with a lower price and no answers to these questions usually turns out dearer.
Timescales
- landing page — one to two weeks
- company site — two to four weeks
- online shop — longer, depending on catalogue and integrations
On average I deliver in 10 working days, 90 % of projects within 15. That is possible because I do not demand a forty-page technical specification: I propose the solution myself after a short conversation about the business goals.
In short
A site pays for itself not through design but through whether enquiries arrive. Everything worth paying for above the minimum is exactly what affects enquiries: a comprehensible structure, speed, forms that work, measurement configured and compliance with the requirements.
I have lived in Slovakia for over ten years and have launched 12+ sites for Slovak companies: Biliardovňa, Krása štúdio, Top Sklad, Synchro Žralok, Bodabo. I work as a Slovak s.r.o. and issue a faktúra with an IČO you can put through your books.
